Foam shapes

Let children sort shapes by size, colour, number of sides, etc...

Songs & Chants

This is a square

Tune: "Frere Jacques"

This is a square. This is a square.
How can you tell? How can you tell?
It has four sides,
All the same size.
It's a square. It's a square.

This is a circle

Tune: "Frere Jacques"

This is a circle. This is circle.
How can you tell? How can you tell?
It goes round and round,
No end can be found.
It's a circle. It's a circle.

The Triangle Song

Tune: "POP! Goes the weasel"

I am a small triangle
I have three sides you see.
I also have three corners.
They're just right for me.

It's A Rectangle

Tune: "B-I-N-G-O"

There is a shape that has four sides,
But it is not a square NO!!
It's a rectangle; It's a rectangle; It's a rectangle;
It is not like a square NO!!
Two sides are long; two sides are short.
They are not the same NO!!
It's a rectangle; It's a rectangle; It's a rectangle;
The sides are not the same NO!!

Snacks

You can prepare some sandwiches and then use a cookie cutter to make shapes

I used pastry to make shapes. I added butter and sugar. I baked them in the oven and ate them with my children.
