Some ideas for classroom
organization & Portable centres
As I
don't have a classroom (I teach
English as a foreign language in
different classrooms) I keep most of
my resources in portable boxes ,
folders, bags and envelopes.
I also
prepare some portable areas like the
Spelling Area, or the Listening Area.
I store
all the stuff in a box (or basket or
...) and paste a big
label to the front of the box
with the name of the area; and
another label on one side of the box
with the items it contains for easy
access If you use Ziploc bags you
will easily see what there is inside.
Portable centres are boxes or
plastic tubs (even bags & envelopes)
where you can store the learning
areas. If you don't have enough
space for permanent centres you can
make some in portable format
Another
way to store your learning centers
is to put them in gallon-sized
ziplock bags. Then hang a
clothesline in the corner of your
room and hang each bag with
clothespins on the line. These
portable centers can even be taken
to the child's own desk to use.
