Colours
(scroll down the page to find ideas for
each colour)
What can we do with
colours?
Paper bags
Did I tell you I am a bit fanatic of paper bags?
;)
They are very cheap and you can do almost
everything with them. In this case, I used them
to sort and match colours

Sorting
Invite children to sort gummies, cookies or
cereals by colour

Book of colours
You can use this poem for the
book
Orange
is an orange,
Yellow
is the sun,
Brown
is a bear,
Purple
is a plum,
Red
is an apple,
Green
is a tree,
Black is a nice cat

Colour jars
These are plastic jars with labels. Children can
bring from home small colourful objects and sort
them in the correct plastic jar

Clothespins
Last year I found these beautiful clothespins in
a bargain shop.
I used them with colour cards to match colours
and pins

Colour estimation
You will need:
·
plastic jars
·
food items
Put some food in plastic jars for children to
estimate. Record their estimations. Let children
eat after estimating.
Suggestions:

Brown - chocolate kisses
Yellow - lemon drops
